Calistoga proclaims October 2024 Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The Calistoga City Council on Oct. 1 unanimously adopted a proclamation declaring October 2024 as Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Mayor Williams read the proclamation highlighting the 43 years of service provided by News Domestic Violence and Abuse Services in Napa County and the organization's role in providing confidential safe housing and 24/7 services for survivors. "We feel very honored that you have taken the time to recognize this issue," Tracy Lam, executive director of News Domestic Violence and Abuse Services, said when accepting the proclamation. June Resler, board president, thanked the council on the board's behalf.
The council presented a framed proclamation to the organization's representatives and noted the community can attend an event hosted by the organization the following night.
