The Loomis Town Council approved the consent calendar by roll call, including items 1–4, 6, 7 and 11. Several items had been pulled for discussion by council members and members of the public.
Among pulled items, the council approved a contract extension for Van Gronigen & Associates. Staff explained the extension is necessary to transfer accounting knowledge to new finance director Ted Williams and to prepare for the FY23–24 audit: the consultant is the only entity with detailed knowledge of accounting transactions for the first 10 months of the fiscal year, and without the extension the town would run out of funds within about 30 days, staff said.
Council voted to approve the pulled items together; roll-call votes recorded council members Cartwright, Cortez, Nisley, Ring and Mayor Youngblood voting in the affirmative. Staff said the contract extension will focus on project work and audit preparation.
