Loomis Council certifies election; Measure C reported to have passed with 71.4% support

The Loomis Town Council adopted a certification of the 2024 election results after a brief public update on the ballot measure supporting the library.

Ann Baker Loomis, speaking on behalf of the Measure C campaign committee, told the council the measure “passed by 71.4% yeses,” thanked volunteers by name and said the campaign ran frugally enough that there will be leftover funds to contribute to the Friends of Loomis Library. “It was a pleasure for us to work,” she said, and listed core committee members who helped run the effort.

Following the public comment, a council member moved to adopt the election certification; the motion was seconded and approved by voice votes. Council members recorded on the roll call as voting Aye included Council member Cortez, Council member Ring, Council member Kneisley, Council member Cartwright and Mayor Youngblood.

The certification formalizes tabulated results the town will use to complete the transition to newly elected and re-elected officials. Council members and speakers repeatedly thanked volunteers and emphasized community engagement as central to the campaign’s success.

The council did not publish a detailed precinct-by-precinct breakdown in the meeting transcript; the certificate motion as presented to the council and the campaign representative’s 71.4% figure were the primary pieces of record discussed at the meeting. No challenge or formal contest of the results was raised during the discussion. The council moved on to seating and oath procedures after the certification vote.
