The board’s chair moved that the district adopt a proclamation noting that Victoria College began in 1925 as a class of about 51 students on the third floor of Patty Welder High School and has grown into an institution that serves roughly 7,000 students annually through education and workforce training. The motion was seconded and passed 6–0.
The proclamation text, read aloud at the meeting, credited Victoria College with expanding local access to two years of collegiate education for students who otherwise could not leave the community for a four‑year university. Trustees invited college representatives to the dais to receive the document and offered congratulations.
