TMLP honors mutual‑aid crews and approves retirements; commission to enter executive session

The commission also accepted retirement notices from the Taunton Retirement Board for Elizabeth Mitchell (effective Dec. 26, 2024), Joseph D. Lorangio (effective Jan. 7, 2025) and Elizabeth Buckley (effective Jan. 14, 2025). Motions to pay regular compensation and accumulated benefits for each retiree were made, seconded and approved. Commissioners offered brief congratulations and personal remarks recognizing long service.
At the end of the meeting the commission voted to enter executive session to discuss competitive advantage and contract negotiations; staff indicated no votes were expected in the closed session.
