HOLTIVILLE โ Council members spent much of the meeting on routine local updates: community events, street maintenance schedules, planning commission changes and a public-safety concern about a local river overflow.
Councilmember Vanessa Ramirez described outreach following the Care Festival, reporting that posted flyers and business-card "dot" technology helped boost sign-ups, and said a recommended photographer (Katie Beza) was unable to take on a requested project. Another councilmember reported the city had not hosted ICC meetings in Westmoreland in several years but had recently attended a meeting there.
Public-safety concerns surfaced when a speaker reported the Alamo River was overflowing at Walker Garden and suggested contacting environmental authorities. The speaker noted volunteer fire-department inspections and insurance-rating discussions, saying the city currently has a rating of "4" and hopes to keep it.
Public works updates included an outline of ongoing citywide crack-seal work with slurry scheduled to start the following Monday, and news that Pine Crossing was moving toward activity phases. The council also noted two new planning commissioners (Greg and Stacy Greg) had been sworn in.
After these updates the council agreed to table the Silver-property report for lack of information and deferred the item to a future meeting.
The meeting proceeded with additional staff and council reports and routine roll calls for subsequent items.
