The Holtville City Council on a unanimous vote adopted Resolution 24-30 to certify the results of the Nov. 5, 2024 general municipal election and then swore in the three certified council members.
City clerk Yvette Rios told the council the Imperial County Registrar of Voters provided certified results showing Vanessa Ramirez, Michael Pacheco and Marie Anderson as the three successful candidates for the council seats. "The agenda was posted on Friday, 12/06/2024," Rios said in opening the item and recited the certified candidate list.
Council moved to adopt the resolution and recorded a roll-call vote; the clerk then administered the oath of office to the three council members in a brief ceremony and the meeting recessed for photographs.
The council also discussed the vacant city treasurer position, confirming the incumbent's term expires Dec. 31 and that staff will advertise the vacancy and accept applications for appointment. No appointment was made at the meeting.
After the swearing-in and short photo break, the council resumed its regular agenda.
