Woodside council approves resolution calling Nov. 5 municipal election

The Woodside Town Council on July 9 adopted a resolution calling and giving notice of the general municipal election to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, to elect three members to the town council. Staff said the resolution also authorizes the town manager to execute an agreement with the San Mateo County Elections Office to provide election services.
During discussion, a member of the public suggested adding a ballot measure to a single‑day election to save costs. Town staff estimated the town’s portion of costs for comparable elections in recent cycles to be in the $10,000–$15,000 range. Melissa Cardenalli (staff) told the council the nomination period opens Monday, July 15 at 8:00 a.m. and closes Friday, August 9 at 5:00 p.m., and that citizen initiatives that miss the deadline would need to move to the next election cycle.
The council approved the resolution by roll call; recorded votes were 'Yes' from Council member Brown, Council member Domkowski, Council member Fluid, Council member Gold, Council member Shaw, and Mayor Wall.
