Arts Commission approves minutes, welcomes three new members and schedules retreat

At the start of the meeting the chair asked for approval of minutes from Oct. 7 and the special meeting of Oct. 28. Daryl moved to approve and Shauna seconded; the transcript records the motion and second but does not include a formal roll-call tally, and the chair treated the item as approved.

Commissioners welcomed three newly approved Arts Commission members: Nancy Cameron (introduced herself as a Lakewood resident and kitchen-and-bath designer), Don (artist; gave a brief introduction and will present show-and-tell later) and Adie Clackner (introduced herself as an English/humanities faculty member at Pierce College and a Lakewood resident since 2016).

The chair reminded members about the Friday retreat at the Pavilion at Fort Stelkin Park (noon–5:30 p.m.), which will include an Asia Pacific Cultural Center cooking demonstration (Korean dumplings), an assemblage workshop with a hired instructor, and a potluck; staff asked members to send photos for the retreat social-time show-and-tell and to sign the shared Google Doc for potluck items.

The commission also asked members to send links for artist proposals and to provide any additional names for the rotating-artist roster prior to the next meeting.
