The auditor said the recount — performed by a board appointed by Judge Day — reviewed 39 tabulator precincts and hand-counted two precincts; it took approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes and produced no changes to the outcome. In a separate voluntary post-election audit of three precincts (selected from the Democratic presidential race and one local race), the auditor reported zero discrepancies between the tabulator totals and the hand counts.
A commissioner moved and the board approved a motion to accept the voluntary post-election audit results. County counsel noted that the post-election audit was voluntary and that the recount’s results would prompt action only if discrepancies had been found.
