Meade County approves liquor and cannabis renewals, 4‑H funding and county IT contract

Commissioners debated budget mechanics and whether a formal resolution or fund transfer was required; a motion to provide $15,000 passed 3–2. Staff noted the county already budgets about $8,500 annually to the fair board and that the 4‑H fairboard was pursuing additional fundraising.
County IT contract: Treasurer Robin Schreich asked to move fully to EnCode 10 (Tyler Technologies) to replace a hybrid v9/v10 setup; commissioners approved contracting to transition the county’s tax and cash‑receipting systems to the same platform, a change the treasurer said was already budgeted for next year.
Auditor reports: The auditor presented a post‑election audit performed Nov. 21 that found small discrepancies in one precinct (Precinct 5A) — a single ballot that machine tabulation read differently than the human audit — and submitted the results to the secretary of state. The commission voted to approve the audit results as presented.
