- Sturgis ambulance/jail medical services contract: Commissioners approved a contract totaling approximately $162,000 for inmate medical services and a 24/7 blood-draw tech arrangement (estimated $135,000 for ambulance services plus about $27,000 for blood draws); the item was approved after county and city officials reviewed terms.
- FHWA urban boundary map: The board approved the Federal Highway urban-boundary update (used for road classification and planning). Motion carried.
- Contingency and cash transfers: The board approved Resolution 2024-12 to transfer $326,400 from contingency to various department budgets, and approved a $40,000 transfer from the general fund to emergency management to correct a negative cash balance. Motions carried.
- General fund assignments and supplemental hearing: Commissioners assigned $13,475,000 from the general fund to cover future needs (facilities, IT, highways, communications, sheriff, planning and professional services) to meet state reserve requirements and scheduled a supplemental budget hearing for Jan. 14, 2025, at 10:00.
- Levy correction: The board approved a corrected secondary road levy resolution to reflect updated valuation and certified numbers; clerical and DOR certification items remain to be finalized.
- Tax penalty/interest waiver: The board voted to waive interest and penalties for Word of Truth Family Church through a date in February; penalties and interest will resume if taxes remain unpaid after that date.
- Planning commission appointments: The board appointed Mike Charnholm, Mike Pauling and Nancy Veras to three-year terms on the Meade County Planning Commission.
