The Woodside Town Council approved a slate of routine items and one appointment on Oct. 22, then adopted a separate ordinance setting council compensation for the new term.
After public comment and staff reports, Council Member Gold presented the appointments subcommittee recommendation to appoint Melody Westerville to the History Committee. Gold moved the appointment and the council approved it by roll call; all members voted in favor.
Later in the meeting the council considered the second reading of an ordinance adding section 30.04 to the municipal code to set council member compensation at $150 per month starting with the new term in December 2024. The ordinance passed on a recorded vote.
Both actions were taken during a meeting that largely focused on the continuation of the Canada Corners hearing; the council moved that item to Dec. 10 to allow staff and applicant time to provide further materials.
Votes and next steps: Melody Westerville’s appointment will be processed by the Town Clerk. The compensation ordinance will be published and its effective date implemented with the next council term.
