The Woodside Town Council adopted a set of strategic goals and approved two administrative contract amendments during the Oct. 8 meeting.
Strategic goals: Staff synthesized council input into three priorities: (1) a vibrant Town Center with an RFP and process to update the Town Center Plan, (2) housing work to implement the adopted RHNA Cycle 6 programs and prepare for Cycle 7 (including ADU work, site identification and CIP alignment), and (3) a fire‑resilient community (hazardous vegetation removal, pursuit of funding, ingress/egress and insurance outreach). Council debated sequencing and staffing capacity but adopted the goals by motion, 6–0.
Town Manager contract amendment: Following the annual performance evaluation, the council approved a ninth amendment increasing the Town Manager’s annual compensation from $266,700 to $275,000 effective Jan. 1, 2025; the vote was 6–0.
Town attorney agreement: The council also approved an amendment to the town attorney services agreement to raise the hourly billing rate from $326 to $334 effective Jan. 1, 2025, and authorized the mayor to execute the agreement.
Next steps: Staff will align budget and payroll timing to implement the compensation change and incorporate the strategic goals into the town’s workplan and public communications.
