Allison, the county communications director, gave a demonstration of the new Mason County website during the June 11 fiscal court meeting and described it as a soft launch. She said the site will be updated frequently and will include department pages, an events calendar, headshot scheduling for officials, and pages to highlight ongoing county projects such as senior housing renovations and the landfill Phase 6 project.
Allison said the site will support online payments for garbage and landfill services and that department pages will include contact information, hours and links such as Adopt‑a‑Pet and Petfinder for the animal shelter. She said departments will not have direct content access; instead designated staff (for example, the judge, the communications office and the county clerk) will publish and update content.
Court members praised the work and asked about links to departmental sites and timing; Allison said the site should be publicly accessible within days and that the Internet’s propagation may take a couple of weeks for the county’s new domain to appear in search results. She reiterated the launch is “soft,” with further edits and feature additions planned over the coming weeks.
No county action was required; staff agreed to continue populating content and to notify commissioners when the new site is fully available.
