Mason County approves vendor claims, surplus auction items and appoints ethics board member

Mason County Fiscal Court approved routine county business on Aug. 23, including vendor claims, surplus property for auction, a state bridge program reimbursement and a board appointment.
Treasurer Kim Muse asked the court to approve vendor claims totaling $29,794.84; the court moved, seconded and approved the claims by roll call. Juan Davis of the road department presented surplus items to be included in the county's Sept. 14 surplus auction'a pull-type sprayer, a Ford camper top/8-foot trailer, four old fuel tanks and a roof truck'and commissioners voted to declare the items surplus and add them to the auction list.
Officials also reported the county expects an $80,000 reimbursement from the state's 80/20 bridge program for the Valley Pike bridge replacement; staff said that reimbursement will be reported at next month's meeting. The court appointed David Burnley to a three-year term on the Mason County ethics board; Burnley was sworn in and administered the constitutional oath.
The clerk recorded roll-call votes for the routine approvals and the meeting adjourned following brief communications.
