Commissioner Wendling asked for commissioner feedback on Chapter 7 of the Warren County comprehensive plan, the transportation and infrastructure chapter. Staff said they will submit the chapter to VDOT for review and aim to publish materials for public outreach in October with a public hearing expected in November.
Staff also said they plan to include appendices from the Shenandoah Alliance and the Browntown Community Citizens Association and are evaluating a possible historic-preservation plan addition. Board-adopted text amendments to the county code (updates to the fairground definition and rural resort center) were also reported by staff as recently completed and implemented.
Commissioners asked for comments and suggested distributing physical copies for those who prefer them; staff agreed to circulate the chapter electronically and in print on request. The commission did not take a formal vote on the chapter at this meeting but set a clear outreach and review schedule.
