Ms. Meadows presented a drafted agreement of cooperation between the Warren County Board of Supervisors and the Front Royal/Warren County School Board to update a 2011 interlocal agreement. The revisions primarily realign departmental responsibilities between public works and parks & recreation, clarify timing and first availability for park use after school activities, and streamline coordination with athletic directors.
Board members asked whether the agreement would alter departmental budgets (Meadows said no), and whether the MOU should list specific facilities covered. Meadows said she would provide a list of impacted facilities or insert the list in the MOU on request. Supervisors asked about softball field availability for girls' teams; Meadows said some school fields remain off limits currently and staff is exploring alternate fields and maintenance needs before opening additional access.
Next steps: Board members requested the redlined changes and an inventory of impacted facilities; Meadows said the draft has been reviewed by school board representatives and will be available for further questions prior to any formal action.
