Planner Brie said the easements dated from earlier plats and that a jurisdictional boundary adjustment with the town of Christiansburg in 2022 preceded rezoning and current development plans. The vacation is related to a planned unit residential development that will include townhomes, single-family and duplex units; staff said the easements will be relocated as part of the development.
Staff said adjoining property owners were notified and no public comments were received at the hearing. The board approved the easement vacation by roll call (6 ayes, 1 abstain recorded). The item will proceed through required site plan and utility coordination steps prior to permit issuance.
