The committee requested the Board authorize County Administrator Angie Hill to complete the required paperwork and allow staff to begin presales, noting that DMV requires 350 presales before advancing production and that the whole process could take up to a year. The committee said they are collecting stories and artifacts to support the county’s 250th anniversary programming and aim to return with additional updates in early 2025.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the plate background color (template-driven) and the presale process; members signaled consensus for staff to proceed with paperwork and presales. The committee noted the plate’s tagline will be used broadly in promotional materials as the committee finalizes the 2026 programming schedule.
