The Interlaken Town Council approved terms of a town administrator contract and handled several routine administrative items during its regular meeting.
Council voted to accept written terms for the administrator contract, a one‑year term running Jan. 1–Dec. 31 with an hourly compensation structure and standard cure-and-termination clauses, after a member noted the town attorney had reviewed the process. The motion to approve the contract was moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote.
The council also voted to approve a previously circulated water-rate budget amendment and the Nov. 6 regular-meeting minutes.
Members agreed the town’s 2025 regular-meeting calendar will begin Jan. 7, 2025, with meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.; the council discussed whether to meet on Sept. 2 (the day after Labor Day) and signaled no objection.
Staff reported the town is implementing online bill pay through Express Bill Pay, with invoicing and sign-up expected in early January. Staff described sign-up steps (bank routing and account numbers for electronic transfer) and recommended initially encouraging uptake without adding payment incentives or surcharges; the council asked staff to provide clear instructions on bills to increase participation.
