VDOT updates: resurfacing, work orders and multiple safety projects reported to Hanover supervisors

Wynne said VDOT had deployed crews to assist storm‑damaged districts in Southwest Virginia and that local resurfacing and modified seal projects are largely complete or in final payment stages.
Wynne reviewed active local projects: the Route 360/Lee Davis reconstruction (about 75% complete with a projected April 1, 2025 finish for the current phase); Fall Line Trail segments with multiple sections being opened as completed; and preliminary right‑of‑way activities for a Route 1/Route 30 project. He confirmed notice‑to‑proceed and design steps are underway for turn‑lane and intersection projects in Gaudens Hill, Creighton Road, Attlee Station, and other locations.
Board members raised pedestrian safety concerns at Atlee Road and asked about push‑button crosswalks; Wynne said he will investigate previously completed studies and return with timing. Members also noted rumble‑strip installations along Route 33 and expressed gratitude for nighttime paving that reduced daytime disruptions.
VDOT said it will follow up with schedules and paving crews on specific streets raised by supervisors and will coordinate with county staff on notification practices for near‑term construction.
