The Wasatch County Solid Waste Disposal District discussed a uniform real-estate contract on Nov. 12 that would formalize repayment to Wasatch County for the Diamond K Waste transfer-station property and reviewed a planned bathroom remodel inside the existing facility.
Speaker 2 explained that Wasatch County purchased the Diamond K Waste property and that the district will repay the county under a formal contract. As presented, Speaker 2 stated: "The 6,806,000 will pay back 595,000 per year." He said the district has made payments and has only a few years left on the payment schedule. County representative Scott had asked whether the district wanted separate counsel to review the contract; Speaker 2 said he did not see a need for another attorney to review it.
Separately, the board discussed remodeling a bathroom inside the transfer station to remove a bathtub/shower and upgrade fixtures for staff use. Speaker 2 put the projected cost at $10,000; Speaker 3 noted it is in the budget and said, "Go for it." No formal motion or recorded roll-call vote to approve the remodel appears in the transcript.
The contract item was placed on the county packet and will be finalized with completed figures and signatures; staff said the first payment would be scheduled after the contract is filled out and signed. The board did not record a formal vote on the real-estate contract during this meeting.
