Staff (Ms. Marshall) explained the withdrawal is sought so the owner may secure tax benefits associated with a conservation easement and presented a letter from the Land Trust indicating willingness to hold the easement. An adjacent property owner, Nash Palazzo, said neighbors would support a withdrawal if it results in conservation rather than development.
A commissioner moved to forward the recommendation to the Board of Supervisors with the understanding of the Land Trust commitment; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
