"We estimated that's about 120 to 160,000 metric tons of CO2 annually," Harmony said, explaining that the range reflects use of two different data sources and methods. To help residents visualize the numbers, he translated the savings into familiar equivalents: millions of gallons of gasoline avoided, tens of thousands of cars off the road for a year, and thousands of households of annual energy use.
