Commission roundup: rezonings, flood standards, contracts, solar projects and insurance renewal

The Iron County Commission approved a package of land-use and administrative actions at its October meeting, including two rezonings, adoption of flood-channel setback standards, contract approvals for facility testing, and authorization to pursue reimbursement agreements for solar and battery projects. Commissioners also approved personnel actions and an insurance renewal and read a formal declaration of intent to increase the county general-fund property tax rate.

Land-use votes - The commission approved a zone change from residential one-half acre (R-1/½) to residential 4,000 square feet (R-4K) for about 16.53 acres near 3200 North and 2300 West in Cedar City.
