The James City County Board of Supervisors on a unanimous vote approved an amendment to extend the cell-tower lease at 3201 Monticello Avenue (Fire Station No. 5) for an additional 15 years. The amendment includes a 25% rent increase effective March 1, 2032, and a $30,000 signing bonus paid by the tenant.
Staff presenter Liz Perman outlined the terms and recommended approval, saying staff "recommends approval of this lease amendment." The board opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers.
A motion to adopt the amendment passed with all members voting aye. The board did not attach additional conditions to the lease amendment. The item was presented as a routine revenue and facilities matter and the county clerk recorded the vote as unanimous.
The board moved on to subsequent agenda items after the motion carried.
