McKinney Gym HVAC and electrical work: Staff presented quotes for an HVAC replacement at the McKinney gym and an associated electrical upgrade. Board discussion focused on whether the quoted electrical work would meet the load requirements for the new HVAC equipment and which budget lines would cover the work. Staff said $150,000 was budgeted and that the Warwick HVAC quote (recorded in the meeting as "142") would fit within that amount; the board approved the contract and authorized the resolution to proceed, asking staff to verify the electrical-scope details.
Fire-suppression contract amendment: Staff described repeated code and system issues that had driven costs above prior expectations for fire-suppression and inspection-related repairs. The board approved increasing the contract cap from $50,000 to $200,000 to allow continued work and remediation.
Votes: Each action was moved, seconded and approved on roll call at the Oct. 15 meeting.
