The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors authorized the county administrator to execute a contract with Webb Development LLC for $149,960 to provide site upgrades needed for two new courts and associated ADA and stormwater work at the county sports complex.
Staff said the FY2024 budget included $379,000 for the two‑court project with Custom Courts Construction contracted to build the courts. Because erosion and accessibility work exceeded the original scope, the county issued an RFQ and received seven quotes; Webb Development was the low bidder at $149,960. Staff recommended adding roughly $160,000 to the CIP for the larger site improvements and moving smaller line items (a $130,000 transfer from walking-trail funding and a $30,000 park-and-recreation reduction) to cover the change.
Supervisor Speaker 12 moved the resolution authorizing the contract and amending the FY2025 budget to reallocate the identified funds; the motion passed by unanimous roll-call vote. Staff said construction would likely start in late spring or early summer, contingent on permitting and seasonal scheduling.
