The Kane County Redevelopment Agency on Nov. 12, 2024, adopted Resolution 2024-2 to establish rules of order and procedure that will be referenced in the agency’s bylaws. The resolution passed unanimously, according to the meeting transcript.
Chair Commissioner Cabea introduced the resolution, describing it as language Rob had drafted to align the RDA’s procedures with adaptable rules of order appropriate for the agency. The chair said the resolution would be referenced in the bylaws to clarify meeting notices, quorum requirements and meeting procedures.
Commissioners then discussed the broader bylaws review. Chair said Rob had not yet completed requested edits to simplify and condense the bylaws, and the group agreed to table the bylaws item until Rob makes the changes. The chair and other commissioners discussed shifting the timing of future RDA meetings to occur right before the county commission meeting to reduce duplicate meeting times.
A motion to adopt Resolution 2024-2 was made, commissioners vocalized 'Aye,' and the transcript records the vote as unanimous. The bylaws item was deferred; staff were directed to return a revised bylaws draft at a future meeting.
