Volunteers, Snow College crews, state staff and a local master trail builder were credited for completing the mileage in roughly one season.
Committee members discussed a small spur to the pavilion and connections to the Reeder parking lot. Members also described plans to recognize CCC history on a new spur the group intends to call the "959 Trail" (named for a historical camp number) and to install a kiosk with historical photos and interpretive material.
Staff reported a busy season of recreation events — including the Sage Riders event, Joe’s Fest and the Green River Classic mountain‑bike event — with generally positive feedback; organizers reported two broken‑bone incidents at the mountain‑bike event that required ambulance response. The committee said the events appear to have been properly permitted and monitored.
On federal lands, staff updated the committee that Jurassic National Monument is closed for the season and a new visitor building is planned for next year; managers are evaluating operating options for the site when the building opens (partial weekday closures, staged parking, and visitor circulation) and will share more details in the coming months. Staff also warned that park rangers will take seasonal furloughs, leaving minimal winter coverage for monument and park sites.
Members asked staff to coordinate public information about trail openings and the planned interpretive signage so recreation users know where to park and how to access new trail segments.
