Duchesne County commissioners voted unanimously on Dec. 23 to purchase a 24-foot tilt-deck trailer for Buildings and Grounds at a total cost of $13,055.

Shane Jenkins, who manages buildings and grounds, told the commission the county’s existing trailer will not accommodate Connex boxes and some vehicles; the tilt deck provides an eight-foot width and the ability to load equipment and storage containers more efficiently. The vendor price quoted was $13,055 including dock fees and a spare tire.

Commissioners noted the department had budget authority and supported the buy as a multipurpose piece of equipment that will reduce the need to move large items between sites. The motion to approve the purchase carried unanimously; Jenkins will provide documentation and follow-up to county staff for purchasing and payment.
