County approves three-year Esri GIS license renewal, $29,300 per year

Duchesne County commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 25 to approve a three-year renewal with Esri for enterprise GIS licensing and imagery services.
Shelly Brennan and GIS staff described the renewal as a continuation of existing licensing at the same price point. "It's 29,300 a year ... it's a 3 year contract," staff said, explaining the pricing was unchanged. Staff said the enterprise-level license provides multiple user licenses and access to an imagery server that the county internal departments — including the assessor’s office — use for mapping and imagery analysis. Staff noted terms prevent pushing certain imagery to public viewers due to third-party licensing restrictions.
Commissioners confirmed funding would come from the general GIS budget. A motion to approve the dated contract was seconded and carried unanimously.
Staff said the renewal preserves current capabilities for county mapping and internal use and urged the commission to sign the agreement so licensing remains uninterrupted.
The contract will be managed by the county GIS team and paid from the general GIS budget; staff will distribute a signed copy to the commission.
