Duchesne County honors three rodeo world champions; names assessor’s office employee of the month

The Duchesne County Commission opened its Dec. 23 meeting by recognizing three local rodeo competitors who recently won world titles and by naming the assessor’s office employee of the month.

Chair welcomed Dean Thompson, Josh Frost and Cash Rob and invited each to introduce family members and comment on their Nevada performances. Thompson and Frost described long careers in rodeo and thanked family and the local community for support. Commissioners praised the athletes’ accomplishments and presented commemorative gifts and photographs.

Later in the meeting the commission recognized Corey Luthrauth of the assessor’s office as Employee of the Month. Supervisors said Luthrauth had been “instrumental” in the office’s revaluation and Puma integration work, provided exemplary public service, and helped with motor-vehicle and appraisal duties. Luthrauth said he was grateful for co-workers and family support.

The recognitions were ceremonial; no formal policy actions or votes were attached to the presentations. The commission proceeded with other agenda business, including grant approvals and budget resolutions later in the meeting.

The commission adjourned after completing the remaining business on the agenda.
