Duchesne County commissioners voted unanimously to authorize the event center to buy 150 uniform 10-foot horse-stall panels, staff said at the Nov. 25 meeting.
Event staff said the panels are necessary to meet increased demand for stalls at rodeo and arena events. "IFA came in ... at $21,001.50," the presenter said, listing that quote and explaining the vendor would have the panels delivered in time for the spring event season. Staff also presented alternative quotes: NRS at $21,006.50 with a 1–2 week turnaround, and Tractor Supply at a higher price with a less certain delivery window.
Commissioners confirmed the order will be paid from this year’s event budget. Commissioners discussed rental revenue and staff estimated daily rentals would cover the cost within one to two event seasons; staff said panels rent for $25 per stall per day when in use. A motion to authorize the purchase was made, seconded and carried unanimously.
The commission directed staff to finalize ordering and to inventory and mark the panels on arrival.
The motion passed without recorded dissent; the commission noted the purchase is part of routine event operations and will support planned spring events.
