In a related action, the commission adopted a resolution amending Emery County’s subdivision regulations to comply with recent state legislation cited in the meeting as SB 174 and HB 476, 2024. County counsel and staff reviewed the resolution and confirmed changes are intended to streamline certain building processes while maintaining oversight.
The commission voted to adopt the ordinance amendments; staff said the changes primarily clarify terminology, streamline processes related to housing and subdivision approvals and ensure state-law compliance. No changes to specific fee schedules were discussed at the meeting.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the BioWest contract, submit the UDOT grant application before the Dec. 18 deadline and implement the ordinance amendments through the county’s standard code update process.
