Emery County Commission approves consent agenda, grants, management agreement and interagency MOU

- JAG local law enforcement block grant application: The commission approved the Emery County Sheriff’s application for a JAG-type local law enforcement block grant (administered through Utah CCJJ) totaling $44,500 to upgrade optics on patrol rifles to address long school hallways and similar concerns.
- Victim services program certified assurances: Vanessa Jesselson, Emery County victim’s advocate, requested and received approval for certified assurances required for the Utah Victim Services Program grant application.
- PILT disbursement resolution: The commission voted to approve Resolution 03-21-23B updating the disbursement of state PILT funds to Emery County special service districts; commissioners described changes that reduced EMS allocation and increased funding to another district.
