The county's HR representative reviewed the employee assistance program funded through Blomquist Hill and noted that prior grant funds ($25,000) had roughly $8,700 remaining.
She proposed shifting $5,000 from the EAP budget to the county's general liability account to offset a USIP renewal that arrived about $5,000 higher than last year. "Thus far, we've spent $8,940," she said of the grant-funded wellness investments, and added that the county budgets $30,000 to allow broader employee use of the program.
HR also described the county's strong workers' compensation record after implementing safety initiatives, noting a reduction to a single lost‑time claim in six years compared with prior years when claims were higher and premiums rose. Commissioners accepted the reallocation proposal in principle and asked HR to return with final accounting entries.
