The Garfield County Commission accepted the hearing officer's decisions from several Board of Equalization hearings, including three in-person hearings, two mail hearings and assessor-initiated adjustments.
Speaker 5 initially misstated a total but corrected the figure and said the net change in assessed value from the recent hearings is roughly $300,000. Speaker 1 noted that the school district receives the majority of the tax shift (about 87 percent) while the county's share is approximately 13 percent.
Speaker 2 moved to accept the hearing officer's decisions and Speaker 1 seconded; the commission approved the acceptance by voice vote. No contested or lingering appeals were recorded in open session at the meeting.
The hearing officer's decisions and the commission's acceptance will be reflected in the county assessment rolls and forwarded to taxing entities for apportionment of tax liability.
