The Grand County Airport Board approved a one-year digital-advertising lease with Lands Back Resort, with a specific caveat that the advertiser must restore any public-facing display areas to their prior condition at the end of the trial term or when county policy requires removal.
S2 moved to proceed with the agreement and asked for language requiring restoration; S6 seconded. Supporters said the short-term agreement would allow the airport and vendor to test digital displays while staff continues drafting a uniform digital-advertising policy that would cover monitors and public spaces. Opponents urged setting explicit exit provisions so the airport can remove or replace external advertising when a formal policy is adopted.
Members raised questions about competing proposals and the need for a uniform policy — board members noted RedTail and other operators already have monitors in their leased spaces and that the county should avoid creating unequal treatment between tenants. The board directed staff to finalize the lease language adding the restoration requirement and to advance the digital-advertising policy for board review as soon as possible.
The vote to approve the one-year agreement with the cleanup caveat passed unanimously.
