"In order to achieve maximum benefit from the internal service fund, a robust policy and appropriate procedures will need to be established and put into place prior to the purchase of the vehicles," Speaker 2 said. Commissioners and staff discussed staging purchases, using proposals to firm pro formas and prioritizing sheriff's office needs.
No procurement decision was made. Staff committed to returning with a timeline, written procedures, and proposals or contract language that would allow the committee to set priorities and limit exposure to reserve depletion.
