At the Nov. 26 meeting, the Davis County Commission convened as the Board of Equalization and heard a property-tax register presented by Mr. Coke.
Mr. Coke summarized recommended appeals for approval totaling $919,300 and cited two large dollar adjustments of $2,820,000 and $9,825,000. He also identified several late abatements requested after Sept. 1 totaling $24,312.27, three veteran-exemption abatements for 2023, one exempt-entity purchase for 2024, and assessor-initiated corrections with a net negative value change of $10,132,175.
Commissioners voted to approve the payment register as presented. The meeting then reconvened to the regular commission agenda and approved consent items including prior meeting minutes.
The register materials and a hearing-finding report were referenced for detail; Mr. Coke said the hearing-finding report contains itemized recommendations and that the denied-appeals report showed no dollar change.
