Commission approves $2.32 million in jail facility contracts

The Davis County Commission approved two construction contracts for upgrades to county correctional facilities during its Dec. 3 meeting.
Andy Obwed of the Sheriff’s Office presented the contracts. The larger contract, with Hogan & Associates Construction, is for $1,807,500 to build a sanitary screening and lift station at the Davis County correctional facility; the second contract for a new ankle monitor work area is for $517,113 and lists a completion target of June 2025.
A commissioner described the larger project as one that had been discussed and programmed for some time and moved to approve both contracts; the motion carried with aye votes recorded.
Next steps: both contracts are to proceed upon final signature; one contract’s end date is to be determined and the ankle monitor work area project is scheduled to complete by June 2025.
