Davis County Commission approves regional economic agreement, transportation plan and a slate of contracts

The Davis County Commission unanimously approved a set of consent and action items on Nov. 12, including a regional economic development contract, acceptance of the county active transportation plan and multiple vendor agreements and renewals.
Commissioners approved a regional economic development agreement with Weber County and the Northern Utah Economic Alliance (NUEA), recorded as payable for $75,000 through Dec. 31, 2025. Chris Roybal, president of NUEA, described the partnership as a regional marketing and recruitment effort that builds on prior collaboration between Davis and Weber counties.
The commission also accepted the 2024 Davis County Active Transportation Plan, developed with Avenue Consultants and supported by a Wasatch Front Regional Council grant. Commissioners said the plan will be used as a tool to prioritize investments in active‑transportation corridors, trail improvements and corridor preservation.
Facilities items approved included an easement and encroachment agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation for Western Sports Park, a ratified concrete contract with BHI Inc. for $26,498.94 at Davis Park Golf Course, and a landscape contract with Acer Landscape Management for $54,455.50 at the Syracuse branch library. The health department accepted a $50,000 grant agreement with the National Council on Aging to increase older adults’ food security; library and IT subscriptions were renewed (EBSCO MyHeritage for $7,008), and IT reported a renewal for NEARMAP aerial imagery (payable amount recorded in the transcript). Sheriff’s Office items including a chiller‑service contract amendment and SCRAM program receipts were also approved.
Commissioners recessed to hear the Board of Equalization and returned to approve the property tax register and the minutes from Oct. 29, 2024. All consent and action items taken during the meeting passed without recorded opposition.
