Wheelwright described the marker as commemorating Revolutionary War patriots (dates 1775—1783) and requested county installation and a formal dedication ceremony. Commissioners thanked the group, discussed logistics with facilities staff, and unanimously approved acceptance of the donation. The chapter and county plan a formal dedication tentatively scheduled for Feb. 18, 2025, subject to DAR historian-general review and grant processing timelines.
The commission noted the marker will be placed near other war memorial displays in the courthouse foyer and that chapter and county staff will coordinate installation and the dedication ceremony.
