Commission approves $368,000 design amendment for Western Sports Park and $628,183.50 landscape agreement

Facilities staff requested and the commission approved two construction-related contracts. Amendment No. 3 to the architectural and design contract with Method Studio covers additional design work for the Western Sports Park Champ Field and building upgrades at a cost of $368,000 (09/10/2024–07/31/2025). Commissioners asked whether funding was available and staff responded that the cost will be covered through construction-budget line-item transfers.
The commission also approved an agreement with Marathon Maintenance to perform landscape upgrades at the county health department campus for $628,183.50 (09/10/2024–06/30/2025). Following a motion and second, both items passed by unanimous voice vote.
Staff said design work and landscape upgrades are already being coordinated with project managers and that the contracts will proceed per the construction schedule.
