Davis County approves youth soccer, tourism conference and internet contracts; sheriff's office accepts small donation and updates gas agreement

The Davis County Commission approved a package of routine contracts and service agreements during its Sept. 17, 2024 meeting.
County staff presented three Community & Economic Development items: a receivable contract with American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) United Utah for indoor soccer training totaling $8,177.40 with terms from Dec. 2, 2024, to Feb. 27, 2025; a payable goods-and-services agreement with Lagoon for the 2024 Utah Tourism Conference (a $5,000 base payable plus $50 per person, dated September 2024 to Sept. 25, 2024); and a standard service-provider contract with LaBois for the conference for $1,905.75 (09/25/2024). A commissioner moved approval of items 3–5, the motion was seconded, and the board voted aye on voice vote.
Information Systems requested and received approval for a cost amendment to the state-provided Internet contract that sets a contracted rate of $1,480 per month (term shown as Sept. 10, 2024–June 30, 2025). "Believe it or not, this is one of the things that got cheaper in this economy," Information Systems staff member Jeff said, adding the revised pricing saves a few hundred dollars per month.
Representing the sheriff's office in the absence of other administration, Chief Oblad presented a donation agreement from Dave Boucher for a computer desk valued at approximately $300 to be used in the West Point satellite patrol office. Chief Oblad also introduced an amendment (Exhibit A) to a Summit Energy gas purchase agreement beginning July 1, 2024, and ending July 1, 2027, with cost breakdowns by year shown in the attachment; a presenter referenced a per-unit figure near $5.19 per mmBtu during the discussion. Commissioners moved, seconded, and approved items 7 and 8 by voice vote.
