At the meeting, Mr. Allen reported that the technical school received a $1 million Local Share Account (LSA) grant to support building renovation projects, including environmental controls, fire suppression systems and roof work. He said the funds will help cover major capital items the tech school requires for safety and operations.
Allen also reported that 11th-grade emergency services students earned Pennsylvania state EMT certification and national registry certification, and he noted upcoming CTE-related events: CTE Day on April 25 in Harrisburg where students will meet legislators, and SkillsUSA participation by students who placed in earlier competitions.
Separately, Mr. Sporney reported that the Neshaminy Education Foundation (NEF) raised more than $20,000 from a Wizards fundraising game on March 11; the NEF alumni committee is preparing nomination procedures for upcoming alumni achievement awards and will accept nominations later this spring. The NEF next meets May 8 at Maple Point and welcomes community members.
These reports were informational; no formal board action was taken on the grant or NEF items during this meeting.
