Two Maple Point Middle School students addressed the Neshaminy School District Board on Oct. 22 to invite veterans and the community to their annual Veterans Day ceremony.
"I am Layton Drummond," one student said, followed by, "And I am Kylie Walton." The students said the ceremony will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, in the Maple Point auditorium and asked veterans to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for check‑in and refreshments; the program is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. They provided a registration phone number for Maple Point's main office.
Superintendent Bowman and board members thanked the students for the invitation and praised the ceremony as a meaningful community tradition. Bowman encouraged families to attend and noted the event's history as a moving way for students and the community to honor veterans.
The board also mentioned other upcoming community observances, including a dedication ceremony for Lance Corporal John F. Muffer on Oct. 24. The Maple Point event remains scheduled for Nov. 8 at the school auditorium.
