The Neshaminy School Board voted 9–0 to adopt "Scenario 3" as its redistricting plan tied to the closure of Pearl S. Buck Elementary School. The resolution, presented by Miss Wolitzer, lays out a sequence of student reassignments and delegates authority to administrators and the district solicitor to carry the resolution into effect.
Under the adopted plan, students from Pearl S. Buck Elementary will be redistricted to Core Creek Elementary beginning in January 2025, with specific neighborhoods such as Twin Oaks identified for that move. Students from the former Oliver Heckman Elementary attendance areas, including Tarrington Estates and Langhorne Terrace, will be redistricted to Cork/Core Creek Elementary in the fall of 2025. Additional neighborhood reassignments named in the motion (Brickman's Way, Walnut Ridge Grove, Trevos Avenue and students currently attending Joseph Federvar) will be moved to Towanka Elementary in fall 2025 as part of the scenario.
Miss Wolitzer told the board the facilities and finance committee based its recommendation on enrollment numbers, geographic considerations and efforts to limit the number of students who would need to be redistricted. She moved that the board "choose scenario 3 for the redistricting of students as a result of the Pearl S. Buck school closure." The motion was seconded by Missus Hollenbach and passed without opposition.
The resolution authorizes administrators and the solicitor to take all actions required to implement the plan. The board did not record any amendments or request additional public hearings at this meeting; implementation timelines and individual student assignments are expected to be handled by administration and communicated to affected families.
